FKS welcomed back Lead U for another Empower Hour during this Week of Respect to bring a message of making good decisions to grades K-5 in the Flocktown MPR. It was also appropriate to our first Paw of the Wolf - Power to Choose. Many thanks to our PTA for bringing us this high energy and thought provoking program.

We have some very studious first graders. Students who worked on summer academic work were rewarded with an Ice Pop Celebration. We are so proud of them for working hard and can't wait to see the growth that will come with their dedication to learning! 🍧📖✍
Our 6th grade science classes completed a lab testing different ways to make bubbles. Teachers helped students collect data using different types of soap and ratios of soap to water.
October 2nd - 6th is recognized as the Week of Respect annually in New Jersey. The LVMS Guidance Department has a great week planned to promote Respect and Anti-Bullying. On Friday, October 6th wear BLUE to show your support for being a respectful Panther!

Students are preparing for the trout eggs that we will raise as a school! Grade 5 will be responsible for feeding the fish and maintaining the tank and water temperature. Students will collect river water to help fill our tank and provide our fish with a healthy environment. 🐡

FKS 5th graders are on their team building field trip today! Impressive courage, trust, encouragement, and teamwork are really evident in this bonding experience.
The LVMS Field Hockey Team attended Youth Night at West Morris Central High School earlier this week. The team also had a big first win yesterday afternoon vs. Peck Middle School!

Cucinella Teacher Spotlight: Ms. Sonzogni, Mrs. Draghi, and Mrs. Melendez
In this week's edition of our Teacher Spotlight, we turn our attention to the collaborative efforts of Ms. Sonzogni, Mrs. Draghi, and Mrs. Melendez. Last week, these dedicated educators brought together their 1st and 5th grade students for a unique peer learning experience. Ms. Sonzogni and Mrs. Melendez's 5th graders joined forces with Mrs. Draghi's 1st grade class, creating partnerships that led to a meaningful exchange.
During this interactive session, students were paired up and participated in a "getting-to-know-you" interview with their newfound buddies. Subsequently, the older students extended their support to their younger counterparts, assisting them in articulating their preferences and interests in writing. This engaging and collaborative learning opportunity not only fostered connections but also allowed the older students to showcase their reading and writing proficiency while nurturing their 1st-grade buddies.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Ms. Sonzogni, Mrs. Draghi, and Mrs. Melendez for their dedication to our students' growth and the creation of these impactful learning experiences.
