Grade 2 & Pre-K students read "The Gingerbread Girl" and used engineer design to create a gingerbread village complete with sturdy milk cartons for the houses and community buildings such as fire/police station, doctors office, banks, and shops made from cardboard boxes. 🍬🏠🍭
Grade 4 Presents - The Great Mars Debate! Will humans live on Mars in the future? Students did an impressive amount of research and presented their opinions and findings to a third grade class. Audience members were able to weigh in on which side was most convincing. 🚀🌌☄🛰
OFRS enjoyed a performance by Bright Star Touring Theatre, Old McDonald's Down-Home Holiday. Students in Pre-K - 1st grade sang winter classics while also considering the importance of sharing with and caring for others during the holiday season. 🐄🐷🎸👩🏻🌾🎄🕎

Fourth grade students enhance their studies in Soils, Rocks and Landforms to create their own Jewelry Store product that features research about Sapphires, Pearls, Peridots, Garnets, Emeralds and more!
Our OFRS staff had a little fun today celebrating "Friendsgiving". We wore our flannels, shared food, and practiced an #attitudeofgratitude for the wonderful co-workers we share our days with. 🦃

We are GRATEFUL for our student community. They all do their part to contribute to the functioning of our school each day. Today we have an #attitudeofgratitude for students who care for our trout tank, donate to our fundraisers, and set up the technology in the library!

Thank you to the PTO for sponsoring our LeadU Assembly. Students learned how to respect themselves and others while having fun, moving their bodies, playing and dancing! Laughter and learning went hand in hand during this very interactive experience.
We were grateful to invite our local Veterans from Post 1776 and honor them for their service. We always learn and grow a deeper sense of pride and appreciation of their role in serving our great country.
OFRS participated in Stuff the Bus to benefit the Long Valley Food Pantry. Our community-minded fourth graders were great helpers!
The OFRS Staff always have a fun time on Halloween!
The trout eggs have arrived! Fifth graders welcomed our visitors from The Pequest Trout Hatchery and we placed our eggs in their new habitat. Many have already hatched and we will soon begin to feed them. The whole school is excited to follow along with our learning journey. 🐡
Mayor Matt Murello visited grade two students in response to their letter asking him to speak about Community and Government and his role as the town's mayor. What a great experience for all involved! ✉ 🗣👏🏻
At OFRS we love volunteers! We had a special family guest visit to read a story in Spanish to a second grade class. She traveled to us from Honduras and taught us many new Spanish words! 📖
