Dear LVMS Parents & Guardians,
As we move closer to wrapping up the first grading quarter of the school year, I would like to take this opportunity to prepare you for the upcoming parent-teacher conferences at Long Valley Middle School. Conferences are scheduled from November 4th through November 6th. Please be aware, on those days, all Washington Township Schools will operate on an Early Dismissal Schedule, with LVMS Dismissing at 1:35 PM.
One of the unique aspects of our school is the flexibility to hold meetings throughout the year. Our teaching teams frequently invite parents to meet, even outside of the formal conference schedule, whenever it is deemed beneficial. We encourage parents to reach out to their child’s teachers or school counselors at any time if they would like to discuss their child’s progress. The needs of adolescent learners can be unpredictable, and those needs don’t always align with scheduled conference dates. Our approach allows us to meet with families whenever it’s necessary to best support our students.
Given that some teachers may have over 100 students, it isn’t possible to meet with every family during the designated conference days. In the coming weeks, our teaching teams will begin contacting some parents to schedule conferences. Given the limited time and number of days available, teachers will prioritize meetings based on student needs. We know that many of our students are already meeting expectations, demonstrating growth, and developing strong work habits, while others may benefit from more focused collaboration between home and school.
If you are not contacted for a conference at this time, we hope you’ll take the opportunity to celebrate your child’s accomplishments so far this year. Of course, if there’s anything you’d like to discuss with your child’s teachers, please feel free to reach out, and they would be happy to arrange a meeting.
Sincerely,
Mark Ippolito
