BAC 5th grade students in Mrs. Van Houten's class built bridges during science today, while learning about the engineering design process. Their challenge: to create a bridge spanning 12 inches to support a toy car without breaking. They will test the bridges out on Monday!
BAC 5th grade students in Ms. Sonzogni's class buddied up with 1st grade students in Mrs. Draghi's class. This was the first of several times these two classes will be collaborating this school year. Today was a fun day of interviewing and getting to know one another!
Cucinella students are hard at work with the district's new math program, Eureka Squared. Fourth-graders have been working cooperatively in partnerships to learn more about money. Way to go BAC Fourth Grade!
Students in third grade show RESPONSIBILITY by collecting library books around the building and delivering them to the library each morning. We all have a meaningful role to play in making our school days run smoothly. #OFRScares!

Friday Fun Day at FKS!!!!
Since the start of the year, Mrs. Morrison's Kindergartners have been learning about the life cycle of caterpillars. They got to watch the process develop in real time in the classroom. Today they got to release their butterflies out into nature!
Each day we remind our students of Bus Safety! 🚌
1. Follow the directions of your driver the first time.
2. Stay seated in your assigned seat facing forward, belt on, with your personal belongings in your lap or at your feet.
3. Keep your arms, legs and head inside the window and out of the aisle.
4. Keep your bus safe & clean (leave food & drinks secured in your backpack).
5. Speak quietly (indoor voices), use technology appropriately.
A huge FKS thank you for those who attended back to school night last night. It was amazing to be able to connect and start the year in a positive manner.

Attention all LVMS students that are new to the district! Don't forget to join us tomorrow, Friday, Sept. 6th after AM homeroom in the LVMS Guidance Office for a "Welcome Breakfast". Students will have the opportunity to join us for a light breakfast, as well as meet with our counselors and some of our student leaders for an opportunity to ask questions, meet new friends, and talk about the many clubs/activities that are offered at LVMS.
Congratulations on a fantastic start to the school year! It was wonderful to see our students embrace the start of the year with such enthusiasm and excitement. Our students did a great job making new friends and settling into their classrooms! Here's to a great year ahead!
